Season Summary:
The CBC Women’s Golf Team put everything together at the NWAACC Championship to bring home CBC’s second championship of the school year. The team shot a 482 during the two day tournament at Hangman and Indian Canyon Golf Courses in Spokane. The 482 was seven shots ahead of region rival Spokane, who won the East Region title without losing a match all season, until the NWAACC Championship match, where they were upset by the Hawks.
The Hawks were impressive during the season; Mandi Villanueva was named to the All-East Region 1st team and shot a 164 at the championship good for 6th place. Mandi’s season was spectacular cumulating in her signing a letter of intent to play at University of Idaho. Amanda Bjork shined on the biggest stage, earning a 3rd place finish at the championship while being a constant threat all season long. Dan Clifford also won the East Region Coach of the year in his first season as Head Coach. First year Head Assistant Coach, Megan Bruce, was also a major contributor the Hawks’ success.
The program will lose three golfers next season, but with three returning golfers and a strong recruiting class, CBC should compete for another championship.
