JOBS! ASCBC Student Programmer Applications for 2008-2009 School Year Available NOW!

Check your student email or visit the Student Programs/ASCBC Office upstairs in the HUB to pick up an application! Programming is one of the funnest jobs to have as a student! You bring the entertainment and lectures to the students! Get your applications in ASAP!

Deadline for the applications is May 8, 2008, by 4:30 PM.

This is a PAID position.

A personal resume (which includes leadership, work, and volunteer experience)
A copy of your current transcript

General Requirements for all ASCBC Leadership Positions:

  • Must be a full-time (minimum of 10 credits) CBC student for the academic year
  • Must have and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Must have at least one class-free period between 9:10 and 12:30 everyday (for the 2008-09 school year). One free morning class period is required, but 2 or more is preferred (ALL Programmers).
  • Must have the 12:40 p.m. class period free daily for the 2008-09 school year (Student Affairs Programmer Only)
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week at Washington state minimum wage
  • Will be compensated for no more than 19 hours per week
  • Must attend student leadership conferences and meetings as assigned by the Director of Student Programs
  • Must be available for summer training June – September (the schedule will be flexible to allow for short summer vacations – 2 weeks or less – and/or another summer job)
  • Required to assist with all Program Board events
  • Will perform various duties as assigned by the Office of Student Programs

Position Descriptions

Education Programmer (1 position)

  • Coordinates, organizes, and supports educational programming
  • Completes every aspect of event planning from generating ideas to event evaluation
  • Works with charitable and/or non-profit organizations to bring in educational speakers and/or community driven displays to campus
  • Works with CBC faculty, staff, and various instructional departments to bring in educational programming that will be beneficial to students’ classroom studies
  • Works and supports all Program Board and Executive Council events and activities
    Attends weekly program board meetings and staff meetings
  • Serves on ASCBC and/or CBC committees when needed
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Must be a full-time (minimum of 10 credits) CBC Student for the academic year
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Must have at least one class-free period between 9:10 and 12:30 every day. One class period is required, but 2 or more free is preferred
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week at Washington State Minimum Wage

Activities Programmer (1 position)

  • Coordinates, organizes, and supports activities programming
  • Completes every aspect of event planning from generating ideas to event evaluation
  • Works and supports all Program Board and Executive Council events and activities
  • Coordinates an Open House to encourage students to meet the ASCBC leadership team and find out about student programs
  • Attends weekly program board meetings and staff meetings
  • Serves on ASCBC and/or CBC committees when needed
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Must be a full-time (minimum of 10 credits) CBC Student for the academic year
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Must have at least one class-free period between 9:10 and 12:30 every day. One class period is required, but 2 or more free is preferred

Student Affairs Programmer (1 position)

  • Coordinates, organizes and supports events and activities developed for or by the ASB Executive Council (includes community activities, political events, leadership seminars, 2 club rushes)
  • Completes every aspect of event planning from brainstorming with Executive Council to event evaluation
  • Takes minutes at all Program Board and Staff meetings
  • Completes clerical duties (such as filing and office management)
  • Maintains 2 brochure racks (club and community) and community bulletin board in the HUB
  • Serves on Election Committee, and any other ASCBC and/or CBC committees when needed
  • Organizes and maintains the Club Room
  • Attends and reports at weekly ASB Congress meetings
  • Works and supports all Program Board and Executive Council events and activities
  • Attends weekly program board meetings and staff meetings
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Must be a full-time (minimum of 10 credits) CBC Student for the academic year
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5

Technology Programmer (1 position)

  • Coordinates, organizes, and supports technology programming (WebCT contests, elections)
  • Completes every aspect of event planning from generating ideas to event evaluation
  • Works and supports all Program Board and Executive Council events and activities
  • Inventories sound and lighting equipment in the HUB and Gjerde Center as assigned by supervisor
  • Responsible for making sure pictures and video is taken at each Student Programs event
  • Responsible for updating and managing the webpage calendar with Student Program events
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Serves on ASCBC and/or CBC committees when needed
  • Attends weekly program board meetings and staff meetings
  • Must be a full-time (minimum of 10 credits) CBC Student for the academic year
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Must have at least one class-free period between 9:10 and 12:30 every day. One class period is required, but 2 or more free is preferred
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week at Washington State Minimum Wage
  • Will be compensated for no more than 19 hours per week

    Campus Connection Programmer (1 position)
  • Coordinates, organizes, and supports programming on the Richland Campus (minimum of 2 events per quarter)
  • Coordinates, organizes, and supports after hours programming on the Pasco Campus (minimum of 1 event per quarter)
  • Completes every aspect of event planning from generating ideas to event evaluation
    Works and supports all Program Board and Executive Council events and activities as assigned
  • Attends weekly program board meetings and staff meetings
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Must be a full-time (minimum 10 credits) CBC Student for the academic year
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Must have 10:20 and 11:30 class times available
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week at Washington State Minimum Wage
  • Will be compensated for no more than 19 hours per week
